Will I get stuck in hypnosis?

No one has ever gotten stuck in hypnosis. The notion comes from fictional portrayal of hypnosis, like seen on the TV show Twilight Zone.

Will I lose control?

No. On the contrary, hypnosis helps you gain a deeper level of control. The fear of losing control is rooted in the fictional portrayal of hypnosis as well as stage shows, which are generally intended for entertainment purposes.

What if hypnosis doesn’t work on me?

Everybody experiences the hypnotic state at various times- it’s a natural inherent ability– such as highway hypnosis, sleep, and movies.

So the question your really asking is, will I be able to go into hypnosis on demand? And the answer is up to you. It can only happen if you desire it and allow it to happen. Each person is responsible for their own hypnotic experience. Self-Hypnosis is a skill that anybody can learn and improve at with practice.

How will I know if I’m in hypnosis?

There are various signs of hypnosis that you will become familiar with as you become more and more hypnotically sophisticated.

Some of the signs of hypnosis are: feeling deeply relaxed, yawning, the hypnotic sigh, increased blood circulation, calmness, increased mental focus, responsiveness to suggestion and body warmth.

Will I fall asleep in hypnosis?

It’s possible, but people generally enter a deep state of wakeful rest with heightened awareness.

What will you make me do?

I can’t make you do anything. You maintain complete control at all times. This is guided self-hypnosis; I am only able to guide you into a state of hypnosis where you can decide to accept positive suggestions.

Will I quack like a duck?

Only if you want to quack like a duck.

How long will the effect of hypnosis last?

Hypnosis is a temporary state of relaxation that fades away shortly after you bring yourself out of hypnosis. While in this state, we will work together to impress your subconscious mind with positive suggestions that can be new self-programming for you and have a lasting effect – especially when you use the accelerator homework that will be provided. And will continue to remain operative unless/until those ideas are replaced with other ideas.

Will I be able to drive after a hypnosis session?

Yes, you will be able to drive. This is not like general anesthesia at the hospital, or like any substance (cannabis, or other psychedelics). Hypnosis is a totally natural state, much like meditation (In fact, science has shown it’s the exact same brain state as meditation). You will be taught to manage your depth of hypnosis, and how to ground yourself and be fully alert after taking yourself out of hypnosis at the end of the process.

Is hypnosis the same as meditation?

Hypnosis and meditation are very similar in terms of brain activity, in which there is an increase in alpha and theta waves. Hypnotherapy helps program the subconscious mind by impressing imagery and suggestion toward the achievement of a specific goal.
